Legitimate Power is one of the Power of Leaders which is required in Developing the Project Team. Normally the power of leaders are used to resolve the conflicits as well developing the project team.
Legitimate Power comes due to the position of the influencer. Depends of the position as CEO, Chairman, Project Sponsor or PM, the influencer have the power to make decisons and force the rest to follow.
